The Dunedin Fine Art Center (DFAC) is proud to announce Danny Olda as its new curator. With an impressive background in curation and a passion for showcasing artistic talent, Olda brings a wealth of experience and vision to DFAC as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Olda, who has served as curator for the Woodson African American Museum of Florida and the Gallery at Creative Pinellas, has dedicated over 15 years to curating compelling exhibitions that captivate and engage audiences. His career highlights include Expanding Waters by Carol Mickett & Robert Stackhouse, GIVE US THE SUN by Traci Mims, Unbound by Akiko Kotani, and 90N: North Pole Installations and Florida Is… by Xavier Cortada. His ability to blend thought-provoking themes with artistic excellence has earned him respect throughout the art world.
“What excites me most about serving as the curator at the Dunedin Fine Art Center is the community,” said Olda. “Working alongside a community that is so engaged and supportive of their art center makes curating such a pleasure and meaningful work for me. I’ve looked up to my predecessor, Catherine Bergmann, for many years, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to continue the work that she loves. I’m looking forward to working hard to create exhibitions that our community finds engaging, moving, and thought-provoking while also showcasing the amazing artistic talent right here in our home.”
A Clearwater resident since childhood, Olda has also curated exhibitions in partnership with institutions such as Tempus Projects, Scarfone/Hartley Gallery, and Alfstad & Contemporary. His exhibitions often explore complex themes and provide platforms for both established and emerging artists.
DFAC is thrilled to welcome Olda and is confident that his expertise and enthusiasm will inspire a new chapter of innovative and engaging exhibitions.
