Multi-Media Materials List With Betty Busby

We will explore many different materials in the class, and I encourage you to bring any artist materials you might be interested in working with.

Below are the items that will be necessary for the class:

Sharp scissors pins Cutting mat with small rotary cutter and xacto knife Fusible of your choice Latex gloves for use when painting parchment paper or Teflon sheet (preferred) Set of acrylic paints and brushes Recommended brushes are 1” chipping brushes, and large (size 8-10) round bristle brushes meant for acrylic paint. Find the chipping brushes in the hardware store, usually in the bottom bins- they are a dollar or so each. OPTIONAL: Gallon ziplock bags to take home your treasures. Apron- at least wear painting clothes. Other media to bring IF you have them and would like to explore are- Shiva paintsticks, colored pencils, fabric paints such as Lumiere, Derwent Inktense pencils, and markers. I don’t use or recommend: regular watercolors, watercolor pencils, watersoluble (oil or regular) pastels or regular oil paint. Small quantities -1/4yd or less – of various materials for use with the non wovens- batiks, sheers, lames, silks and laces are all great. VENUE TO PROVIDE: Iron(s), ironing area Protective covering for work area.
