Teen Art Camp for Cool, Creative Experiences. Ages 11 - 14

Art Squad allows teens to use the theme of the week as a departure point for their own creative experience. Squads are divided by age; squad 1 for the youngest, squad 2-3 make up the middle, and squad 4 is for the older teens up to age 14. Space is limited to 40 teens per week, early registration is recommended. Drop off is between 8:30 am and 9:00 am; and pick up is promptly at 3:00 p.m. Parent/Adult must sign their camper in and out daily and show I.D upon pick up.

Sample schedule: 9:00 – 10:20 am 1st Class Drawing, painting & mixed media

10:20 – 11:40 am 2nd Class Clay, throwing pottery on the wheel

11:40 am – 12:20 p.m. Lunch (not provided) in Highlander Park

12:20 – 1:40 pm 3rd Class Digital imaging in Photoshop

1:40 – 3:00 pm 4th Class Darkroom, 35 mm photography and developing black & white film

Art and More for Children Entering Kindergarten. Ages 4.5 - 5

Mini-Masters Pre-School Art Camp is designed for children entering kindergarten (have to turn 5 by Augusts 31, 2020). Space is limited to 15 campers per week.

Campers explore adventures in art with mixed-media focused on fun and educational themes of the week.

Campers have lunch (not provided) together at 11:30 am. We provide a snack for them at 1:45 pm.

Drop off is between 8:45 am and 9:00 am; and pick up is promptly at 3:00 pm.

**Parent/Adult must sign their camper in and out daily and show I.D upon pick up.

10:30 - 11:30 am Hands-on, Story or Playground Time

Magnificent Murals for Ages 8 -10

Under the direction of DFAC’s wonderful faculty, young artists will learn the steps in creating magnificent, monumental sized drawings and paintings that will be on display at DFAC.

Students will work as a team or in smaller groups using the theme of the week, to work up sketches, then scaled drawings, then transferring/enlarging their artwork onto huge sections of paper.

Drop off is between 8:30 am and 9:00 am; and pick up is promptly at 3:00 p.m.

**Parent/Adult must sign their camper in and out daily and show I.D upon pick up.

Performing Arts for Ages 8 - 12

This camp has a weekly focus on music theater. 9am - 3pm

**Parent/Adult must sign their camper in and out daily and show I.D upon pick up.

This camp gives young artists the chance to create theater from the ground up! Participants explore performance through creative exercises, working together as an ensemble to produce an original piece complete with song and dance. Each week of themed dramatics culminates in a celebratory performance showcasing campers’ diligence and ingenuity.

Have fun with Art and Technology. Ages 8 - 10

Under the direction of DFAC’s wonderful faculty, young artists will explore the digital world on DFAC iPads. They will create art using a variety of artsy apps and of course, 2D materials will be utilized as well as items for stop motion animation.

Sample schedule:

9:00 – 11:20 am Class time (10:00 – 10:20 am Snack time)

11:20 am – 12:10 p.m. Outside Lunch (not provided). Campers who have finished their lunch may participate in light outdoor sports

12:15 – 12:45 p.m. Cool Down Time indoors with a theme related video clip.

Visual Arts Camp for Ages 6 - 10

The visual arts camp introduces students to a variety of media, techniques, art history, and multicultural appreciation in a fun and educational environment. Pre-planned age appropriate projects, based on the weekly themes are worked on daily, and ready to come home by Friday. Clay projects take a few days to be fired, and are ready for pick up the following Wednesday. Students rotate through four classes a day.

Campers are divided into groups by age; the yellow group is primarily our youngest campers, the blue and green groups make up the middle, and the red group is for the oldest kids up to age 10. Drop off is between 8:30 am and 9:00 am; and pick up is promptly at 3:00 p.m. **Parent/Adult must sign their camper in and out daily and show I.D upon pick up.

Ages 10 – 14 Virtual Reality Painting for Kids

Explore the exciting world of Virtual Reality! In this 5 – day workshop/camp. Students will work with the top three themes of the summer to create their artwork. They will start creating their artwork with traditional 2D materials. After enlarging, drawing and painting, students will then construct 3D versions of their subjects using self-hardening clay, wire, etc. Finally, students will use headsets, laptops and controllers to bring their subject to life in the Virtual Realty world. Bring a USB drive to save your final digital work of art. Limited to 6 students.

Drop off is between 8:30 am and 9:00 am; and pick up is promptly at 3:00 p.m. Parent/Adult must sign their camper in and out daily and show I.D upon pick up.
