Design a dog, fashion a feline or any four legged friend and "bring it to life" with paper mache. Students will use a variety of recyclable materials including plastic bottles, cardboard and newspaper to create an animal's body shape, then add layers of paper mache, embellishments and paint to create their very own "Art-Official Pet". During the process, we'll explore a variety of techniques, textures and recipes in paper mache. Materials fee covers all needed supplies. This workshop meets for 4 Mondays. Ages 17 and up.

Learn to sketch and paint iconic seashells from life! Start by making a value sketch and using simple shapes and 5 values to capture the form. Then capture the shell in paint on canvas (open to any medium-demo will be in pastel). Make a drawing and a painting, and learn to see and capture 5 values in pencil and your favorite painting medium. Learn to see color temperature and use it to describe form. Great exercise for painters of all levels or people who want to learn to paint.

Join us for an immersive workshop where we will delve into the world of mixed media art using paper painting, collage techniques, stenciling, and stamping. We will be working on a series of paintings on different substrates. Day 1 We will start off by painting papers using various methods, making our own stamps , stencils, and ultimately incorporating color mixing to enhance our palletes. Day 2 Using our creative papers from Day 1, we will begin to collage and paint on various substrates. At the end of the workshop we will showcase what we have created and share what we've learned with our fellow students. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as artists looking to expand their creative horizons in mixed media art. No prior experience is necessary, only a passion for creativity and experimentation.
